For the 11-year existence of the Sunday Million on PokerStars, the largest weekly tournament on the Internet, more than 500 people have become its winners. Surprisingly, only 12 players managed to win this tournament twice, and no one has been able to get the title of a three-time champion yet.
It will happen in the King's Casino in Rozvadov on the third of September. PokerStars users can play the first day online, and then go to Rozvadov and continue the battle on the real poker scene.
On the threshold of this event, twelve two-time Sunday Million champions were asked what is necessary to win this tournament. They have given a piece of advice to the participants who will reach the live stage of the historic competition with a guarantee of €1 million.
The Dane Jesper Hougaard became the first two-time champion of the Sunday Million. Winning the tournament in April and May 2009 he received a total of $356,695. In his opinion, Sunday Million Live is a great way to change the game rhythm, where both professional and recreational players can enjoy their participation in the tournament.
Hougaard is going to follow similar tactics in the online and live stages of the tournament. His approach towards online gaming is based on statistics and mathematics, while in the live game he will be available to get an additional information in the form of player profiles and so-called reads.
The Canadian thx4urm0n3y got closer to the Triple Crown by winning the Sunday Million in February and August 2017 and having finished on the second place in 2014. As thx4urm0n3y resides in Canada, he will not be able to participate in Sunday Million Live. He promises to participate if PokerStars will do something similar closer to his home. Thx4urm0n3y is echoed by his compatriot WhatARunnAA, another two-time winner of the Sunday Million from Canada.
Canadian champions emphasize that it is necessary to play aggressively on the first day in order to accumulate a large stack before the stage in Rozvadov. A similar advice was given by the Argentine Diego Eisenberg, who excelled in the Sunday Million in August 2008 and April 2011, receiving a total of $392,245.
Rob Tinnion from the United Kingdom won even more. Taking first prizes in these tournaments in August 2014 and February 2015 he got $414,130. The British reminds that participation in a live tournament is fraught with stress for some players.
Anyway, the event is going to be exciting, so do not miss it, if you are ready to prove your skills.
