The first ever Super High Roller Bowl China will be held from March 20 to 22 at the Babylon Casino located at the Fisherman's Wharf in Macau.
The organizers announced this tournament with a buy-in of HK $2,100,000 (approximately $270,000) in the beginning of the year. This event can be accessed only by invitation and until recently there was absolutely no information about possible participants.
Now at least one player has confirmed his participation in the Super High Roller Bowl China, and this is Patrik Antonius who announced on Twitter that he will become one of the 49 invited:
The guaranteed prize fund of the tournament is HK $100 million (approximately $12,800,000), however, the organizers will take 3% as an administrative fee from the final prize fund. The number of re-entries is not limited.
Although it is expected to hear the participation confirmation from other players soon, Patrik Antonius can already be attributed to the frontrunners.
Patrik Antonius is a famous Finnish high roller. He used to play tennis at a professional level but was forced to abandon his sports career because of a spinal injury and concentrated on another favorite occupation - playing poker. It is Patrick who holds the record for winning the largest pot in the online poker history - $1,356,947. He earned more than $4 million for his tournament career and more than 11 million in cash games.
