American poker player Ben Lamb achieved a victory in the event called the ANTON Jewellery Championship Ring which was held in Melbourne, Australia at the Crown Casino as a part of the 2018 Aussie Millions.
The event was one of the most expensive - its buy-in was $25,000. The tournament collected 114 registrations and $2,208,126 of the prize fund which was shared among participants who took 14 top positions in the final standings.
After reducing the playing field to 2 people, America’s player remained one on one with Jan-Eric Schwippert from Germany. During the heads-up the opponents agreed to make adjustments to the first two payments dealing. As a result, Lamb received a prize for the first place in the amount of $524,764, while the German player got $484,746.
Interestingly, Lamb positions himself as a cash-player, considering such a format more profitable. After the performance, Ben admitted that he usually participates in a dozen of the most impressing tournaments during the year. However, winning the Aussie Millions was the first in his career, and therefore he sees a reason to revise the list of his tournament priorities.
Another notable victory in the Australian series was also won by a venerable pro. It was a Canadian Sam Greenwood. The latter won the Aussie Millions ANTON Jewellery $50,000 Challenge receiving $94,437 for the 1st place.
